This Christmas : It’s feasting all the way
This Christmas…
Here goes our chance of celebrating a White Christmas again. It has been a long time since I have felt that real snow on my body. I miss the snow. Somehow, December is never a low period for Ed year after year to travel that far.
A time of giving, get-together, Christmas light-ups….Joyous atmosphere.
Guess who is happiest to be spotted with the different sizes and designs of Christmas trees?
These past few days, even before Christmas day, we have been catching up with friends and feasting. It’s time to cut down the unwanted calories after Christmas before they build up again during Chinese New Year in a month’s time.
We are re-playing old videos of our boys in their festive mood. I can’t resist. They are simply too CUTE! *LOL*.
Here’s wishing all our readers and friends “A Merry Christmas and Happy New Year”.
Going Secondary School…what’s next?
A month has almost passed since the release of PSLE results. Thanks to those aunties and uncles who are concerned about Brendan’s PSLE result and those friends who were as anxious as us on the day of release last month.
Brendan did pretty well … with NO “Bs, Cs or Fs” and with A* :) Well enough to meet the standard of the secondary school that he has earlier been given a confirmed place through Direct School Admission (DSA) for Integrated Programme.
We are glad that we let him apply for Direct School Admission and went through the tests and interview. Maybe it’s what we call “Stress at first and less stress now”.
At least, with such intense competition after PSLE result release and when school posting result is announced today, he needs not worry about the secondary school that he will be posted to.
As he proceeds to his secondary school for registration tomorrow, I can’t hold back my feeling that time really flies.
….7 years ago, his papa and I put in effort and got shortlisted for voluntary service for our boy to get into one of the local top primary school which is quite near to home but not within the distance range to be allocated by MOE.
….7 years later, we tried our best again to support our son to fulfil his wish of going to his dream school and give him the moral support for his Direct School Admission exercise. Yap! I put my career to a pause to spend more time with Brendan for his preparation. No regrets and the same sentiment :”Nothing gives me a greater sense of accomplishment now than my child’s achievements.”
I appreciate how our boy has illustrated so many instances of perseverance, always setting higher target for himself despite tough competition in a good school and haven’t given up with more challenges.
I truly appreciate how we need to prepare beforehand, discuss and put in efforts to go this far. I guess in years to come, our boy will be getting fully independant and might not need his parents’ help anymore.
Our moral support will, however, be with him always to achieve his dreams ….
Son, continue to work hard to achieve your next level of dreams. We remain proud of you:)
Best School Holidays Ever
I wish life can always be as beautiful and fresh as this orchid.

I am really cherishing this December School Holidays with our boys. Should I label it as first school holidays that I could enjoy and totally commit bonding time with our boys without any job distractions and school burdens? A great incentive for being SAHM:) To me..being energised by the young ones is much more fulfilling than being a “Tai Tai”.
A school holiday that I could trully immerse myself in the kids’ world and sometimes they take a walk with me down nostalgic lanes.
MEANINGFUL:)
With no baggages on our shoulders and an early Taiwan vacation in early November, our 2 boys and I have travelled many places locally and make much food trails. Though we had to forgo our Hong Kong plan (just boys and I) for relative visiting due to my one-week allergy attack, Singapore offers heaps of fun too:)
Another 2 weeks left before school starts and we are still making plans for much more FUN. Looking forward to watching a dance performance together tonight:)
A month after Taiwan trip, I know I still have a number of posts to cover on our trip. Many photos to organise. However, I think, the travel posts can await.
Since the heat of School Holidays is still on, thought it might be useful to share our local trails first:)
For now and till end-December, our boys are looking forward to everyday fun on our local trails and hunt for tasty food and maybe another overseas short vacation:)
Till then, it’s eat and play before they start crunching on their books again while I step back to the kitchen.
Definitely, more posts on the way on fun places to visit for kids:)
