Have you penned your wishes on the wishing spheres? Join in many others to see your wishes float to reality at Marina Bay - the bay of  Hope and Light.

We are happy that our wishing sphere will be among the 20,000 spheres, gearing up for Countdown 2012 at Marina Bay:) Haha! we have penned our wishes on the lanterns in Taiwan and now also on the balloons in Singapore:)  Our boys are excited!

If you are a fan of Narnia story or movie, can check out the Chronicles of Narnia : Exhibition at Marina Bay Sands (skating rink). View the props used in the movie.

Admission fees:
S$5 per person
(children below 3 years : free admission)
S$20 – Family package (2 adults and up to 4 children)
$2.50 each for additional child. (Children: 3-16 years)

No photography allowed. Do not expect extensive displays with the considerably low admission fee paid. However, it is certainly a good course for paying since all proceeds go to The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund.

Hmm… I am sure most of us remember the 1997 film “Titanic”.  Haha! It was the year of my marriage and so it was still very romantic then to watch it as a newly registered married couple:)

With the authentic artifacts of the sunken Iconic Ship being shipped to Singapore, we certainly would not give the exhibition a miss!  It was also the first time we set foot in the Art Science Museum (Marina Bay Sands) and so the boys came along.

Art Science Museum - we learnt that it is apparently not a Lotus but open palm of Buddha. Still ???

Yay! We are so proud to be on board the Titanic!  Don’t be mistaken, the sunken ship itself is not on exhibition. It is still at the bottom of the sea:(

No photography allowed. However, that did not dampen our mood to see it clear, hear it out - the story of the sinking, the real heroes and others on board. When I mean “clear”, it means really carefully –haha! judging from the way Brendan scrutinised each artifact. He always makes our admission fees most worth it:)

Even if our younger boy might not feel as much as we do (with no prior knowledge of the sinking), we went home with a post-education of the Titanic as we recapped the story of the film Titanic again by re-watching the movie on DVD (censored one of course) and relate to our boys the artifacts that they have seen at the exhibition. Though the casts of the film might not be ALL real, at least our boys have an impression of the Titanic now and the inside state of an ICONIC SHIP.

Like Brendan asked :”Oh! They used coal?” “How do they preserve all these artifacts? A century! That’s a long time!”

We are glad they are interested:) Haha! I guess we have interesting narration skill:)

They started researching more on internet about the ship and Darren illustrated his idea of the Ship in drawing.  He went on to built a  very creative model of the Ship but unfortunately it has been totally flattened and out of shape now due to its paper material.

We never could imagine a trip to the Arts Science Museum could be so eduational for our boys and it brings them closer to the era of their parents and the famous film. Even can’t imagine is how a film can heighten the awareness of people on Titanic despite their origins and even after a century.

If you are also a fan of Jack and Rose or the iconic Titanic, you might be interested to go for the exhibition by 29 April 2012.  Was glad that they give discounts on admission fees to locals and those who charge to OCBC credit card.
