Chingay Parade
Each year a significant event happening in celebration of Lunar New Year in Singapore is the Chingay Parade.
This year, the streets in the heartlands are also brightened up with the arrival of 10 Chingay 2011 floats and other performances like the lion and dragon dances, graced by the MPs.
The parade and performances heightened the atmosphere of Lunar New Year festival.
Brendan found out a venue of the Chingay Parade in the heartlands and so we went together with my mom - immersing ourselves in a weekend night of colourful lit up street, fireworks, firecrackers, and cultural street performances.
The residents were excited. It was a night when the streets in the residential area came alive *GRIN*.
Brendan was extremely excited despite standing for almost 2 hours.
Here are some photos to share :)

The arrival of the Chingay floats
Here comes the highlight of the Chingay Parade 2011! We can imagine the efforts put into the decoration of these vehicles, special thanks to their individual sponsors.
The iconic cranes of the “Resorts World’s Crane Dance” came visiting at the heartlands *smile*
The zoo came alive in the dark.
Fireworks
How does a celebration end in high notes without the fireworks?
Wow! Such gorgeous photos! I patiently waited for each one to load and they were worth the wait.
My favorite is the glowing dragon float. Looks like a very good time.
Hi Vickie,
I am glad that you enjoyed the photos. It was the first time that my boys have seen such colourful car floats and my elder one was really excited:)
