The strong atmosphere of the Lunar New Year is in the air.

Children are happiest….. This is the time when relatives and friends gather. This is the time to spend quality time with family members. This is also the time to show the appreciation to elderly and others - in the form of gifts like hampers and red packets.

Play - The children get to interact and play with their cousins and other children.

Eat - Yummy yummy, for once, they have many varieties of New Year candies /cookies to eat  [I try to make it an exception for the boys during this festive season although we are particular over the amount of titbits they snack on during normal days].

New attire - They put on their brand new clothes/shoes.

No school - Till 17 February, they can forget about their school work for a while.

Red packets/Ang Baos - Hmmmm……children are happiest to receive the red packets containing money from the uncles, aunties, grandparents, parents etc. The designs on the red packets are so “pretty” and not to mention the children, even I enjoy admiring them:)
