Our Little Conversation … #6

collage

Mommy: “Darren, please put on your clothes.”

Darren stood beside and still refused to obey. Then, to my surprise, he started to pose like a manhunt contestant *faint*.

Mommy: “What are you doing?”

Darren: “Mommy, take photos for me.” *he was smiling mischievously*.

Mommy:”No, no…. You can take photos only when you are clothed. If the photos are misplaced, then how?”

Darren: “Mommy, please, please. I want to take these naked photos so that next time I can show them to my wife.”

[Brendan and I broke into loud laughters. Where on earth does Darren get the idea of showing his future wife his naked childhood photos? He can't be serious. Our cheeky boy! *shake head*.]

——————-

Darren:”Papa, I know why the baby’s head must come out first.”

Papa Ed:”Tell me why.”

Darren:”Because the baby wants to come out and breathe faster. Correct?”

[I was standing nearby and was thinking our boy was almost right. Then, he continued...]

Darren: “Papa, are we born from eggs or as babies?”

*faint*

Well, well, it is time we so some homeschooling on life cycles of animals and humans. Maybe, elder brother Brendan, can do me the favour of teaching his brother the life cycles. *Mommy is not lazy but just busy…haha:)*

—————–

It is so common for us to instruct our children to get certain things done and then they will take their own sweet times to obey.

So, each time when I instruct Darren to do a second or third task,  then I realise that he has not embarked on the first one. I sometimes get impatient and give stricter orders.

Mommy:”Darren, please keep all your books into your school bag.”

Darren:”Orr.” *This is Darren’s standard and sweetest reply of saying “okay”.*

I went  into the next room minutes later and discovered that the table was in  a mess.

Mommy:”Darren, come and clear your table!”

Darren: “Aiyoh, you ask me to pack my bag and then you ask me to clear my table. How to do so many things.”

Mommy:”Then why didn’t you pack your bag earlier?”

Darren:”Aiyoh, because you ask me to wash my hand right?”

[Our boy was certainly quick-witted enough to use me as a excuse for not obeying me in the first place. I thought washing hand is a daily habit that I have instructed the boys to do when they dirty their hands after dinner. Past instructions have come in useful for our little one as excuse in time of need. Although angry, I must say that I am often amused by his "Aiyoh":)]

On The Field

These days we choose to spend our outdoor time ON THE FIELD.

Boys being boys…..

They love the wide patch of open field where they can run around wildly, have a little football match, play a game of badminton, run after bubbles or simply just roam around.

I remember in the past when we used to fly kites here too (here’s a field at Sengkang).

Haha…I can feel their happiness and extreme relaxation when they are let out into the field.:)

I love those windy moments in the evening out on the field too although I have to also play the role of the “ball passer”  or even “ball picker”.:)

It is certainly encourageable to expose our children more -  to these exercises and greenery.

Oh! and where the field is free for usage and the kids are easier on their parents *haha*.

Nothing Can Beat That Sleep

Our little one dozing off in the middle of a KTV session in Batam, Indonesia:)

Nothing can beat that precious sleep.

The loud noise and music in the karaoke room, the fun, the food and the company could not prevent our little one from dozing off into his slumberland.

Hee…I am amused by this photo.

One moment, our little one was fighting with us over the microphone enthusiastically and singing “Old MacDonald had farm, E-I-E-I-O ….with a moo moo here and a moo moo there…….”.  Then, suddenly, it became oink oink here and oink oink there because soon within minutes, he was sleeping like a pig. Completely quiet……

Haha! He must have been terrified by the other 3 croaking creatures in a confined room that he chose to Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz….. *oink oink*.

Good night baby *grin*.
