On The Field
These days we choose to spend our outdoor time ON THE FIELD.
Boys being boys…..
They love the wide patch of open field where they can run around wildly, have a little football match, play a game of badminton, run after bubbles or simply just roam around.
I remember in the past when we used to fly kites here too (here’s a field at Sengkang).
Haha…I can feel their happiness and extreme relaxation when they are let out into the field.:)
I love those windy moments in the evening out on the field too although I have to also play the role of the “ball passer” or even “ball picker”.:)
It is certainly encourageable to expose our children more - to these exercises and greenery.
Oh! and where the field is free for usage and the kids are easier on their parents *haha*.
Chinese Martial Arts or Wushu Lessons
In one of my previous posts, I have talked about my boys taking up Chinese Martial Arts or Wushu. It is already their 4th lesson and they now have their wushu costumes.
I am seeing good results because Darren, who is hardly attentive at home, is finally trying to be focused throughout the wushu class *VICTORY sign by mummy*. Of course, I am not trying to prepare them to be like Chinese Gongfu Superstar Jet Li *wink*. Hmmm….discipline, getting fit, getting more flexible….wushu is definitely a right choice for them.
Brendan was saying: “Mummy, I can protect you from any danger with wushu.”
Mummy: “Aiyo, not with your skills now” *lol*
I am touched but it is still a long way and I am not sure whether they will persist through the classes and practices. Till then, I will have to make sure that they will not use what they learn to spar with each other at home.
Exercise Day
Recently, I have been receiving comments that I have gained weight. To women, there are certain remarks that are better left unspoken.
Since young, I have never got to worry about myself gaining weight. While everybody else seems to be going on diet, busy exercising to cut down weight, burying in their sorrow over stubborn fats, I for a moment thought that I will never have to worry about it since I should be inheriting my mum’s genes of staying slim. Those were the glory days when my model weight and height have got me shortlisted on the catwalk path and when I was envied by friends since I was able to maintain my “fatless” figure after my two boys were bornt.
Never do I imagine that I have to despair now, not over a bloated body!, but over unnecessary comments that I have gained weight. Is it fats on my thighs or hands or tummy? Despite Papa Ed’s assurance that I look slim still (although with a little more fats on my legs and arms) and do not believe in untrue comments from others, I tell myself that I must do something about it before I live to regret that these unwanted fats is gonna stay with me. This means no more snacking over my “DVD” hour at night and more exercise of course!
Since Brendan is having his NAPFA test soon and the weather is good, the family sets off on our journey of outdoor exercise.
