Our Little Conversation……..#3
Mommy: “Darren, can you excuse us for a while?”
Darren:”Why? …… Okay. I know. You want to kiss Papa!”
[Papa Ed and I stared at each other surprised with his little remark. Next, while Papa Ed and I were talking, Darren was sneaking around hideously. Aha! Obviously evesdropping! As soon as he monitored that his parents had finished whispering, he took the first opportunity to run back to us. Now, he has another version of interpretation.]
Darren: “So, you finish BEATING papa already?”
Mommy: ?????? *faint*
This little boy is always so playful. I wonder where he got the idea that ”leaving adults alone” means they are kissing or beating each other. Erhh, maybe it is time to be really serious in ensuring parental guidance on the TV programme he watches.

Few days ago, out of the blue, Darren came up with this topic.
Darren:”Men like women because women pretty, right?”
[Noting that we were astonished at his sudden topic, he continued.]
Darren: “A man looks at woman’s hair and face and says whether she is pretty.
Brendan:”So, Darren, who is the prettiest woman?”
Darren:”I don’t know. There are many women and I don’t know all. It is infinity women in the world, right?”
Brendan:”Who is the prettiest woman you know?”
Darren:”Mommy lah!”
Brendan:”You cheat! Just now, you said you don’t know all women and now you can choose!”
Darren:”You said prettiest woman I KNOW. I know many girls but not women. Mommy is a woman I know. So, she is the prettiest lah!”
[Then, he decided to add this very sweet comment.]
Darren:”Every child will say his mother is the prettiest. Mommy, right?”
Haha…he sure knows how to flatter me but is also fast to tell the truth that he has not many other women, he knows, to compare with and it is a “model answer” to praise one’s mother.
Kids dont always lie, do they, Suzette.. i believe him!
Hi Claire,
Suzette?? Haha…Claire, have you left the comment for a wrong mommy? *wink*
Anyway, our little Darren has the “sweetest mouth” compared to everyone else at home and it is his natural skill to really make us flattered and elated with his sweet talk *lol*
How come my son doesn’t say I’m the prettiest woman on earth!? Can I have Darren? hahaha…
hahaha. he is cute :) kids are the sweetest creation of God, and yah they dont tell a lie. I WANT TO HEAR that too from my kids.. waaaaaaaaah they are already in their teens life..
I like this post!!
Darren sounds like a real charmer. Kids can say the sweetest things sometimes. My favorite thing my daughter has ever told me was, “I hope I look just like you when I grow up. You look like an angel.”
Kids are so funny - just wait until they find out how kids are made and then they start to ask you about how they were made. You want to be honest but you don’t want to put any weird thoughts in the their head. It’s one of the toughest topics to talk about with your kids. Your boy sounds very smart.
Hi ECL,
Unfortunately, Darren is not transferrable:)
Hi Silvergirl,
I agree that kids are the great creation of God. They do cheer up our life:)
Hi Vickie,
Hehe…that is certainly an encouragement from your daughter that mommy looks great!
Hi Sheila,
I know, I know that ackward feelings. My eldest son is asking me more and more of this topic and I am always put in a spot of knowing how much to share at his age of 11.
Oh my! What a little darling you have!!! I wish I’ll be able to have a baby as sweet as him!!!
So sweet, to most kids they are sincere when they said that their mom are the prettiest and I am sure they are telling the truth when they say that to you :)
Hi Khaye,
I am glad to have such a darling:)
Hi Michael,
Actually, I do not take their words seriously. Just amused by the kids’ talk and the way he seems to have a reason to support things he says:)
