My “Shrinking” Feet?
Wondering whether my feet are shrinking or his feet are growing.
It can’t be true that he is growing so fast. It was just not too long ago when we had to buy him new shoes again.
The other day when Brendan’s slippers were wet, he put on mine.
Surprise! It was a perfect fit.
Brendan in my size 40 slippers!
Previously, I wrote a post on how our boy has soared in height and has reached my shoulder. Now, he can wear my shoes and a size 8/9.
Soon, my shoes in the shoe cabinet will have to give way for one more big-footer at home [Yeah, I am quite a big-footer too:(]
Lesson to remember: DO NOT buy costly shoes for kids on growth spurge. They will outgrow them soon.
When kids grow, there is no stopping them. When they are young and naughty, we can’t wait for them to grow up and be more sensible. When they have grown, we yearn to freeze time. This is the dilemma of a mother.
*I miss the tiny little boy whom I could lift up and carry in my arms.*
It is a contradicting feeling that on one hand, we want to “preserve” the cuteness and smallness of our kids but on the other hand, we wanted them to grow up. Sigh :)
Ya, is touching to see your article, and I’m sure i’ll have the same feeling when my kids grown up :)
Btw for size 40, your boy really is a big footer! haha!
My rule of the Thumb: “Never buy anything that’s costly, which children can put on, wear in or can slip into!” Not even when they have a younger sibling to ‘take over’ the possessions. *wink*
Hi Michael,
That’s a dilemma:(
It happens that for this brand of slippers, they seem to “oversize” the shoes. A size 8 or 9 is still pretty big considering his small frame.
Hi Angeline,
Yeah, The shoes have to be passed down to others in no time.
