Little Tutor
Finally, Brendan’s Semestral 1 examinations is over. Darren is also recovering except for the cough *Phew*.
So, our elder brother had the opportunity to play “Tutor” in helping his little brother “catch up” with his school work *Smile*.
(Almost two weeks away from school and Darren has definitely missed much in school.)
Hmm…Brendan is a Serious and No-nonsense tutor. Darren tried to accomodate….but not for long.
Since our pair of brothers are often in argument, it is not surprising that Brendan would get impatient with Darren after a while as Darren’s attention started to stray…..
However, I must say that Brendan has been very clear and systematic in his explanations. He wrote to illustrate. He repeated when Darren was unsure. He used another method when Darren didn’t understand. He assessed Darren’s understanding and marked his work. He asked Darren questions to determine his understandings.
(Hmm…maybe we have a potential teacher in the making *Smile*).
Brendan is better able to explain to Darren the concept learned in school since they both attend the same school and are just 4 years apart. This little session has also given Brendan the opportunity to take responsibility and pride when he manages to enable Darren to learn. In fact, for the last few months, Brendan has voluntarily assumed the responsibility of helping to ensure that his little brother does his school homework everyday.
(Yeap, we have a little problem here because our little Darren seems to have problem listening to the full instructions given by teacher or he still hasn’t fully got use to the primary school system).
very good example!
How nice to have an older brother to help with homework :) And older brother is taking it seriously ;-)
Wow, Brendan is a cool elder brother! Not many have the patience to sit down and teach a sibling. Way to go, Brendan!
Thanks Wenn!
Marie : Yeap, I am thankful that Brendan takes his task seriously and even if it includes tutoring his brother, although they squabble most of the time over the slightest matter.
Ing: Brendan was trying to keep his cool. It is not easy for little brother to be submissive to Brendan and so after a while the fire spark started. Nevertheless, the elder one still tried his best:)
Wow this is a great resource.. I’m enjoying it.. good article
