Our Little Conversation…..#2
As parents, I am sure you enjoy those little conversations with your young ones - especially during those moments when they sound so innocent and cute.
Yes, at other moments even when they might not make any sense.
Or even moments when they leave you dumbfounded.
Every now and then, I enjoy the opportunities to engage in small conversations with my little ones and in fact, it is simply funny just to overhear their conversations *Grin*.
The other day, we were at the 7-eleven convenience store when the brothers made an interesting conversation.
Darren: “Papa is in the 7-eleven shop.”
Brendan:”Hey! Soon, we are 7-eleven.”
Darren:”Why?”
Brendan:”Because you are 7 years old this year and I am turning 11. So we are 7-eleven!”
Darren:”Yah Gor Gor (brother), why they so clever to know that we are going to be 7 years old and 11 years old and they also call themselves 7-eleven?”
Mommy:”Hahaha.” (Mommy thinks: One is simply creative in his co-relation and the other …..INNOCENTLY CUTE!)
……..
That day, after Papa Ed had a fall, Darren was very concerned. However, after a while, Darren decided that his daddy is going to be fine because…….
Darren:”Papa is strong and so he will not feel pain right?”
Mommy:”Yes. He is a strong man.”
Darren:” Man got more bones and woman got more brain. So, Papa is strong!”
Mommy:”You say woman has more brain and so does it mean woman is cleverer?”
Darren:”No. Man is clever!” (Mommy thinks: Being a male, he definitely knows how to protect his male species..haha).
Mommy:”Then, why do you say that ‘Man got more bones and woman got more brain’?
Darren: “Because I watch TV and they say so.”
Mommy and Brendan:”Oh I see. Hahaha.”
……..
Darren: “I want to go to that fish shop.”
Papa Ed:”I just went in and there is no fish.”
Darren:”I want to go…..”
Papa Ed:”The fish is not nice and so there is no need to go.”
Darren:” Just now, you say there is no fish. If there is no fish, then how can you know that the fish is not nice? Huh, Papa?”
Papa was speechless. The boy is always fast in catching us for what we have said.
Wah! Your Darren’s pretty quick in his thinking!

Hi Jus,
At the age of 6, he is getting more “witty” each day and he remembers what we say and challenges us.
Hi Amrit,
It is good to build that bond with our kids through our regular conversations with them. I cannot imagine the day when my kids will stop sharing with me the happenings in their lives and when silence prevail. So I am treasuring every moment of our conversations now:)
