“Carry Me”

At almost 7 years old, Darren still enjoys being carried, once in a while.

That feeling of warmth and security while being carried, I guess is special and worth remembering. Well, somehow, I always  remember my mom carrying me  when I was young *hee*.

So Darren tries to earn a “carry” from his father when he expresses his tiredness, sleepiness and boredom while we are out. As for me, out little boy weighing a 20+ kg is definitely too heavy for me!

That bond is strong and that warmth must be comforting because it never fails to put a satisfied look and smile on our little boy’s face -  whenever he is  HIGH UP on his father’s body *smile*.

These moments will soon be over for our little one as he gets too old and heavy for us to carry. However, I am sure the fond memories will not slip away.

……

In our life, don’t we feel relieved and comforting to have someone to lift us up from our worries and we yearn to have someone carry us out of our trouble  and our difficult journey too?

Omigosh! After learning to walk and now run, my daughter at 16 months prefers to be carried everywhere. Looks like we will be carrying our kids more years to come :)

    Hi Marie,
I wouldn’t mind carrying Darren a few more years if he doesn’t feel ashamed at a later age or if not because he is weighing that 20 over kg! I cannot sustain carrying him without feeling breathless! Our kids do want to get pampered by being carried, haha!
