YUKI Turns 5 Months
Yuki turns five months today.
I have this urge to “accessorize” her nowadays. Cannot imagine that I keep a constant look out for her hair accessories (instead of mine) when I go shopping and am sewing ribbons for her. Maybe I am treating her like a little daughter *hee*.
Till she is at a comfortable age to go for full grooming (recommended at 6 months), we tie up her hair on top of her head with a ribbon to keep them out of her eyes:)
We have completed her puppy training classes. So, is it easier to manage her now?
Well, I must say it takes lots of time to interact and patience. Fortunately for us, Yuki is pretty quiet. However, she can be very stubborn too and will seriously scream if Papa Ed gets stern with her when she is disobedient. Those long naggy sessions which might work on kids definitely don’t work on puppies. They need short syllable words and treats!
At 5 months, she recognises daily routines and will be excited when she senses that it is play and going out time. She knows where we keep her toys and she will often self-help:)
However, she hates taking photos (especially with flashes and handphone) and it can be a challenge taking a nice shot of her when she is aware. Why is this so? It started because Papa Ed once showed her a video of hers on his phone and she got so aggressive that until now she will get really defensive when she sees a phone before her face *lol*.
I believe Yuki likes her training classes because she gets to network with other dogs. This is our trainer’s dog (Yuki’s weekend friend) and she is so well-behaved and smart.
There is a long way to go but YUKI is already such a joy to have in the family (despite the part where I have to clean her poo and pee mess daily) and stand the stench when I come home discovering that she has messed up the place *ha*.
My little secret is : I have been so afraid of dogs previously and still am very wary of bigger dogs. However, it is strange that I am taking care of our Yuki now and she is my greatest daily companion:)
