P1 School Orientation

Talking about my youngest boy, we attended his school orientations last weekend. In two months’ time, he will be bidding farewell to his pre-school and joining Primary One.

I was worried that he would be afraid when I left him with his future class for the school orientations. Surprisingly, he was excited and kept wanting to go back to the classroom at the end of the session.  He was fascinated by the big school compound. So we had a busy morning, filling in registration forms, busy queueing for books, uniforms, shoes and transport booking.  My pocket is lighter now too with few hundred dollars spent on books, uniforms, shoes and bag *frown*.

Children expenses can be really high:(  However, if it is for education, I guess it is worth it.

Long queue for books. Unfortunately, the textbooks used by Brendan 4 years ago cannot be used for Darren anymore. Seems like they have a change in syllabus:(

Ya..ya, kids are exciting about new school, don’t know that tons of homework will follow them too. My girl’s P1 school orientation was cancelled due to H1N1 epidemic. Saving on new books, I thought that too. Textbooks has changed so fast..BTW, your boy has a smiling face.

  • Denesa says:

Yah Viviana, he is a cheerful boy:)

gonna be a good experience for him..

  • hope your son’s orientation week was fun. most parents are frustrated that their kids have to carry way too many books to school and it’s a heavy burden for our little kids. :(

btw, i’ve put up your link for being my first visitor today. :)

It’s great to hear that your boy is excited about his primary school. :)

Wishing him all the best in his primary education.

  • Denesa says:

My boy is probably still not aware of the extent of studies that he has to commit as soon as he steps into the primary school…ohoh!

  • Denesa says:

Yah Angeline, they are orientated earlier. Not a bad idea cos these young kids can read their textbooks earlier and score next year in their exams…hahaha.

Actually, he is in the same school as his elder brother and I hope that Brendan can help his brother to adapt to the new environment

  • Denesa says:

Thanks for putting up my link:) I also feel that my elder boy’s school bag is too heavy and to make matter worse, he tends to add “pokemon books” to his already very heavy bag!
