When Life Is Not Always Fair….
LIFE’S NOT ALWAYS FAIR……
Some people really strive to achieve their goals but the journey seems so tough. It seems that there are always obstacles along the way to obstruct them from reaching these goals *impossible mission*.
Some people work hard in their career but their efforts are not being appreciated or rewarded. It seems that being able to “Work Smart” and not only “Work Hard” is also another key element now. At a workplace that is full of office politics and rigid human resources guidelines, working hard might not necessarily equate to a reward or recognition in good performance *a sad reality*.
[There will never been an end - if we scratch our head and wonder why our fellow colleagues (who have not been working hard), have been given higher performance rewards than ourselves.]
Some people devote themselves to their families but feel that their love and dedication have not been reciprocated. It seems that they have been taken for granted *sensitive feelings*.
Some people hope to realize their dreams but fail to achieve them. It seems that they are building castles in the air and dreaming *wishful thinking*.
We can go on with the list….Life, as it is, is NEVER FAIR.
Do the above situations sound familiar to you? Well, it is part and parcel of our lives.
[They can be demoralising. They can be disappointing. ]
What are the immediate and usual reactions when we are facing these situations? It is natural that we will end up comparing, despairing and even escaping. These, however, will not help because nothing will change to make ourselves feel better. Instead, we will feel even more sour.
Frankly, I understand all these feelings perfectly. Besides being a mother, I also have a career, my dreams and aspirations. I do feel DOWN too when life is not always fair. I do fret and I do cry in disappointment and pain *moments of silence*.
What’s most important is I try to remind myself not to hang on to my disappointed and painful feelings and make good use of my senses to consider how to make things better and my feelings happier…….
[You might have guessed it right that I am feeling down now as I write...Yeap. I am feeling upset. In fact, I feel overworked. So, this post will serve to remind myself to re-organise my feelings and remember that I do have other choice to make things better.
For now, I just need a little peace and rest to organise my thoughts and recall the essence of happiness and my lovely boys.......]
i understand yr feelings! we work so hard but do people care?
This post is beyond awesome. I am always wondering what to do and what not to do so I will follow some of these tips.
Obstacles is always present but we should always be optimistic and glad for the things that we have.
sometimes life is easier and sometimes it’s full of obstacle. Be steadfast while helping each others and Don’t forget be grateful everyday since it could makes you live longer too. Best regard
Budi, you are so right about being grateful for other’s help and thankful for what we have. This has been my motivation to help me bounce back.
Chubskulit, that’s right. We should be proud of the obstacles that we have overcome and be proud of our strength:)
Wenn, thank you.
