Catch U

Children usually give excuses when they are asked to do something that they are least keen to do. For Darren, besides playing, gaming, doing everything else that relates to pokemon and meddling with people and my phone (his latest past times), other things seem to be of the least interest to him. This of course will apply to studying.

It has been so difficult to make him concentrate seriously when he is asked to sit desk bound and study at home. Before we know it, he is either “pink pathering” behind our back and peeping into our PC screens, crawling under the desk or worse going around annoying everybody. When we are slightly less attentive, Darren would have gone missing from his desk.

Papa Ed has always been the disciplinary master at home and a few days ago decided to be firm with Darren. The stern look helped to make Darren glued to his chair for a while before Darren broke the silence. “Mummy, I want to sleep”. He gave such a tired look and we softened our heart and let him go to bed when it was merely about 8.30pm in the evening.

I went over a while later and there Darren was quietly “pokemoning” away on his Nintendo DS.  You can imagine his shock and guilty look when he realised that mummy has crept behind him quietly and caught him in action.
