Time Flies - How Fast He Has Grown!

Time flies.

I might not have noticed it.  But when I looked through our photo collection, I realised how fast Brendan has grown in height.

Well, as he grows, I must also learn to accept the number of wrinkles that would one day surface on my face. How I wish that day will never come.

As it is, time waits for no man.

I want them to grow and yet I don’t want to be reminded that I am getting older. This is so typical when we reach certain age, isn’t it?

This photo was taken in year 2006 when Brendan was 7 years old.  He head has reached my waist.

This was taken in 2009 when he was turning 10 years old. His head has reached my chest level.

This one was taken in 2010, a few days ago, when he is almost 11 years old. His head has reached my shoulder!

How fast he is catching up with this 1.68 metre tall mommy! Or am I shrinking in height? *oops*

I still can’t believe that it seems just not too long ago when I was carrying him in my arms

[Bren, this post is dedicated to you. See how fast you have grown!]

Haha..looking at things positively, I will soon have another MAN at home who can reach height limits for me, where I can’t. *grin*

The days when I am the only one to reach “unreachable shelves” without the aid of a stool or ladder, will soon be over. *wider grin*

So, have you been keeping track of your child’s growth and height?

Jewish kids are considered adult when they reached 13 years old.

Thank you for your kind concern. I believe my blog will run well again with all your support.

i always keep track of my children’s height n weight. My youngest son has grown taller than me!

  • Amazing how fast they grow don’t they. I was keeping track of my daughter’s height monthly and am amazed how much she’s grown in 6 months.

We do markings of our boys’ height on the wall just next to our bedroomdoor. :) a very good way to record down their growth as well as able to see how much they have grow day in day out when we walk past that piece of wall.

only thing is… if we ever plan to shift our nest, we can’t bring that priceless wall with us!

My kids will be taller than me in no time coz I’m oni 5 feet tall. hehehe

  • hehe…i think women at our age are constantly striving to maintain a youthful appearance, minus the wrinkles.

  • Yes… just with a blink of the eyes. Therefore, keep your eyes open longer ;)

Have more time to spend with kids before they have their own world.

Hi Jellybelly, it is good that you keep track of your gal’s height monthly. They grow fast!

  • Denesa says:

Hi Rachel, you will have to recreate that wall in the new nest..haha

  • Denesa says:

Hi Slavemom, no problem at all. Then they will soon be able to let us feel well-protected..ha

Hi Life Ramblings, we are in the same boat. As our kids grow, sooner or later, we will need to face that. It is a good sign to see them grow so healthily as long as I don’t remind myself of my age..hehe.

I remember when my elder boy seem shorter than his classmates, I tend to worry that he is not developing well. Now when I compare his height in the photo, I can heave a sigh of relief.

Hi Michael, yeah yeah.. a few more blinks, I will see Bren’s head above mine. I always think that I am tall enough for him to catch up with me only in many more years to come but I guess once he enters Secondary 1, he will soon overtake me in height.

I value this moment now when he can still shove his head against my body and I am able to protect him. Soon, Darren will also catch up.

  • Denesa says:

Hi VS, 13 years?? That is early! I am gonna be a grandma soon if that is the case..haha.

BTW, hope that you have managed to salvage all the contents in your blog.

  • My son is 10 years old now and I still can’t believe it. Before I know I it, he’ll be taller than me. Life goes by in a blink of an eye so take time to cherish it.
