The 1st Youth Olympic Games is Held In Singapore

The Olympic Games is well-known to everyone.

However, the Youth Olympic Games (YOG) is definitely NEW (click to find out more).

And…we are so excited that the inaugural YOG will be held here in Singapore from 14 - 26 August 2010

Especially our two sons….

[Don't know since when, they have become such ardent followers of some of the national and international events held in Singapore.]

So, that day, when I was on leave and we wanted to do something meaningful on the morning of Darren’s birthday, we decided to give our support at the Journey of the Youth Olympic Flame (JYOF) Torch Relay Day 3.

Haha..besides showing our support, I must say that the boys had FUN as we drove ahead of the relay teams and waited for them at some of the crowd cheering points.

We are happy to experience these rare moments in Singapore’s history, together with many others in Singapore *grin*.

Especially on Darren’s birthday *wider grin*.

Take a look at some of the photos that we have taken at the JYOF Torch Relay *smile*.

See the large number of supporters on both sides of the road ….

Finally, we caught a close look at the YOG mascots, Merly and Lyo (not in real person) but on the surface of the bus.

It feels good to be youthful again…

Now, here’s the Theme Song “Everyone” - performed by Australian Idol runner-up Jessica Mauboy (Oceania), Singapore Idol finalist Tabitha Nauser (Asia), singer-songwriter Steve Appleton (Europe), Jamaican-American reggae singer Sean Kingston (America) and South African Idol winner Jody Williams (Africa).

So, the rings of the world will unite here in Singapore in 3 days’ time *smile*.

Three cheers to our homeland - the Garden City of Singapore!
