My Birthday
I am not sure how others spend their birthday. For me, there is no rest for me and no I did not take a day’s leave from work to spend time with my loved ones or finally having my personal hours to enjoy life.
In fact, poor me is super busy in office attending meetings and clearing and reacting to that few hundreds of emails (just because I was away for two weekdays) that I didn’t even have time for a decent lunch.
To add a little “spice” to the day, I got myself frustrated over a shop owner who refused to refund me for charging me wrongly for the purchase of two Nintendo DS Lite’s stylus and to make matter worse being blamed by someone for paying so much for a stylus!
However, I am glad that my friends, colleagues and boss have not forgotten to send me their birthday wishes that adds much warmth to a hectic day.
The best gift that I receive today is definitely the well wishes by my two boys and the birthday cards self-made by them. The special thing is that this is the first time I receive a birthday card that is self-made by Darren and this year the kids do not need anyone to remind them that mummy’s birthday is here. They have really grown up and become much more sensible.
Actually, what is more blessed than being able to have my loved ones around me (Papa Ed is in Singapore) to cut my birthday cake together and sing that birthday song. I must thank God for this and treasure this special day. As an added bonus, Papa Ed agreed to give me a post birthday celebration at the beach once we both have the time……yes, I simply love the beach….it holds so much fond memories for me.
