Continuing on my earlier post on the Southern Ridges in Singapore, we started our 1 hour to-and-fro slow journey on the “Forest Walk”, starting from the Telok Blangah Hil Park. We were surrounded by the secondary forest (the Adinandra Belukar). We managed to catch sight of butterflies, attractive flowers but not much luck with birds.
A closer look at the map
The Forest Walk…….
The Forest Walk at the Telok Blangah Hill - Elevated Walkway along the metal bridges
Walking along the 1.3 metres elevated metal bridges allow us to exercise, breathe in the fresh air and also enjoy the surrounding forest canopy
Lovely Plants and Flowers that bloom in the forest……..
"Dillenia Suffruticosa". The leaves in the past were used to wrap food like rojak. The red fruits attract the birds because they are FOOD.
The beautiful bright yellow flower of "Dillenia Suffruticosa". Unfortunately, these flowers last only one day.
Another beauty along the walkway.
White beauties...unfortunately I don't know the names.
Wild grasses
Our journey………….
Fortunately, little Darren didn't mind the long walk.
The brothers seem to get along better when they are outdoor
The beautiful and green scenery has made it easier for young kids and adults to enjoy the walk
Borrowing a shoulder from brother to lean on
The metal floorings and open concept which allows us to see clearly the height beneath us
Help! Bee Bee! Haha...to Darren, every little insect is a BEEeeeeee
The "old men" continuing their way...
The next time……….
The next time, we will try out the Earth Trail
On our way to embark on more Southern Ridges adventure...
We enjoy each of our family outdoor trip. Will you or did you enjoy your outdoor trip too, especially with young children?

those are beautiful blooms and this is such a wonderful place to appreciate nature’s best views. i’d love to visit this amazing park someday with my kiddos, of course.
The metal bridge is easily accessed by people of any age and at great height to view the beautiful flowers blooming at the top of the trees:)

Wow! Those are absolutely incredible pictures. I live in Northern Canada so I am not use to the type of vegetation in Singapore. You have definitely made me add this to my “Plan to Visit” List.
Thanks for posting such incredible pictures.
