An Excited Son!

“Good for you Son! You have been appointed as a Class Monitor!“

Two days ago, Brendan called me excitedly over lunch that he has been voted by his classmates to be the Class Monitor for the month.  In fact, he was still happily sharing this joy with the rest of us over dinner again and I could really feel the strong sense of excitement and enthusiasm in him. Naturally as a supportive mother …hahaha…I am confident in him that he can do a responsible job…yah and to know that my boy has gained the confidence of others and be voted. When he is happy..I am the happiest!

At first, I thought that he might feel nervous or burdened by this appointment and he might probably freaked out since teacher has recently told me that he seems pretty quiet in class. Though this is not the first time that he is a Class Monitor in his four years in this school, each new exposure is definitely a whole new experience.

As long as Brendan is comfortable and enthusiastic about it, this will definitely be a good opportunity for him to “come out of his shell” and stand in front of the class and be more confident and bold in leading. It is good that children are exposed to a greater responsibility in their growing process and I do hope it will not be that tough for him to be re-adapted and accepted in taking care of the class.

I was teasing him that he could practise his monitor responsibility that he picks up in school and helps in relieving mummy’s heavy responsibility at home :)) Oh yes…I can’t wait for that day when I can stop to be the only super human at home.
