A Devoted Daddy - Learn from the Male Emu?

This signage caught my attention.

Devoted Daddy

“Male emu incubates the eggs, turning them a few times a day. During incubation, he does not eat, drink or defecate. He looks after the chicks for 5 months”.

Wow! The most Devoted and Best Daddy award should go to the MALE EMU!

A daddy’s natural instinct to protect his youngs, forgo his needs and go extra miles for his family.

A photo of emu taken at Singapore Zoo. Err… wonder whether this is a male emu *grin*.

Of course, we are not comparing our human daddies’s devotion with that of the male EMU’s.

In fact, in comparison to older times, I am seeing our modern daddies being more devoted to spending quality time with family, taking turns to attend to our needy babies at night, changing babies’ diapers, bathing the kids and even engaged in babysitting our young ones while mommies are busy.

Recently, I have witnessed more daddies feeding their young ones in public while mommies take a “backseat”. Some even jog with their two hands pushing their kiddos in their prams :)

One question that interests me. Does/Did your hubby actively participate in attending to and babysitting your young ones? What are your views on the roles and responsibilities of the modern daddies? Do share :)
