Well-Said - I Am Also Getting Emotional
Having talked about pets in my last post, here’s another story of a pet – this time it is about the relationship of a Dog (a Labrador Retriever) named Marley and a young family.
We were watching the movie “Marlie and Me” and it tells the story of a special relationship of Marley and a young couple as the couple started as newly weds to parents of three kids. It shares the sentiments of the couples as new parents and also their development in careers as they enter into parenthood.
I enjoyed the humorous and heart-warming parts of the story but also got very sentimental as the story progressed. I eventually shed tears when Marley “departed” from the family. Throughout the movie, I could also imagine the feelings of the mother “having postnatal blues”, adapting to a bigger family, feeling tired, and having to feel “misplaced” when managing between career and kids. I know the feeling of having to let go of someone precious and a pet because I have gone through it…..
In a part of the movie, mummy (Jenny) was candid with her hubby (John) in expressing that “parenting is the most difficult task in life and there is nobody to prepare new parents for the responsibility. She added that, however, since it is a choice that she has made to be parent, she will not regret it. She also commented that when she is in office, she thinks of her kids but while at home, she worries about her work.”
Very well-said indeed as I believe it represents the sentiments of many mothers. These words seem to echo my inner thoughts…….
I am suddenly lost for words because I share so many similar sentiments in the movie….<ponder>
