Counting Down
Every now and then, I am counting down. Who doesn’t?
Counting down to weekends;
Counting down to special occasions;
Counting down to pay day;
Counting down to our family holidays;
Counting down to the day when my heavy piles of workload in office will finally be completed (this is hardly possible since before I could finish whatever’s on hand, more are added);
Counting down to the day when my greatest worry in life will be finally over;
Still counting down to many great things that could possible happen in life……….
Just last week, I was counting down to School Holidays, simply because with School Holidays mummy, hopefully, can now spend more time with my boys and mummy can finally take a little breather since I do not have to worry about rushing home to guide the children in their homework everyday or having to spend a little time with kids early at night since they have to go to bed early during school days.
This little space is definitely beneficial to recharge a tired mummy because I can now enjoy my slow dinner outside (while others are craving for home cooked food, I am craving for delicacies at the food court!) and enjoy a night movie with Papa Ed while kids enjoy their freedom of gaming….without having to worry about their undone homework and unsigned letters to parents. I am so grateful that School Holidays is here because it is time for both parents and kids to recharge while we slow down our pace.
Unfortunately, the hope of wishing to take a slightly longer break from work and spend time with kids during this School Holidays does not seem possible. The guilty mummy has to succumb to her busy office work expectations. For the time being, it will be a short break for me again……
