Enjoying Their Foot Massage….
“When are we going for foot massage“, Brendan has been asking for weeks since his birthday. Might sound strange but one of Brendan’s birthday requests is to have foot massage. He simply loves it after previous experiences!
So….after the repeated requests, I decided to grant him his wish again of going for foot massage after a year’s break. This time, our little Darren, surprisingly, volunteered to enjoy too. Yes, I use the word “enjoy” because not all kids can get themselves rooted to the seats for 30 minutes with a mixture of painfulness and ticklishness on the feet. My little boy, who used to show so much resistance, was enjoying every minute of it this time, while concentrating on his Nintendo DS.
As a mom, I believe in engaging my kids in any activity that will boost their natural defences and also health. If foot reflexology (foot massage) can serve the above purpose and I can get the kids seated quietly for that 30 minutes, we seem to be in a win-win situation *LOL*.
I was told that foot reflexology brings about benefits like improving blood circulation and removing toxic products from the body. After the massage session, we are usually advised to drink water to eliminate toxin and lactic acids. Due to the pressure exerted on certain points of the feet and as a result causing pain, not everybody finds it an enjoyment. Hence, it is such a surprise that Brendan actually misses it:) They sure know how to knock a hole in their mother’s pocket at this young age *oops*. But but…..as long as it is beneficial for health, I guess it is worth it.

Hi, thanks for dropping by my blog. :)
It’s really rare for a child to enjoy foot reflexology. I tried it once and couldn’t bear the pain! Wonder how your boys could stand it. Or maybe there wasn’t much pain for them as they’re still kids. If I’m not wrong, the more ‘problem’ you have in your body, the greater the pain during the massage.
Maybe..that’s what one of the staff told me before too that more pain..more health problem. For children, usually they won’t use too much pressure and hence the pain is less..
foot massage is excellent for elderly ppl..

foot massage is good for everybody. infact, im doing foot massage.
Reflexology treatment is a very relaxing therapy but i don’t think my kids are cool with it. the pain and ticklishness could be unbearable for them.
Wow! So relax :)
Yah…agree that it is good for health
Yes, it could be quite painful and so I am surprised l’l Darren didn’t even show any negative expression throughout the session.
OK, I am NOW going to look up that chart!!
Hi there, love your blog!
In Cambodia my kids and I had the most amazing foot massage. In fact it started as a reflexology treatment but ended up being a whole body massage. My son, aged 6, actually fell asleep after the initial giggling, and my 9 year old daughter adored it. I think a good foot massage is a wonderful gift for anyone.
I never tried foot massage but I am afraid I do not like it.
It is a ticklish feeling right?
Joanne - Halo. It’s ticklish + pain actually..oops.
