ALIVE Museum

Imagine Mona Lisa having an interactive Q&A session from her picture.

And an interactive exhibition where you learn the inside stories of the great art pieces of artists like Leonado Da Vinci.

These….you can find it only at the ALIVE Museum (currently exhibition is here in Singapore) ”Where Paintings Come Alive”.

Sounds interesting?  Hmm, so, the four of us went to pay a visit.

We have never been too familiar with the art creations of the great artists. But of course the parents know about the artists and only a few of their great works.

While there, we certainly got to see, hear and learn more :)

I guess what the boys enjoyed most (since they can’t really appreciate these great works yet at their age) was the interactive Mona Lisa. They were ”tickled” by a painting of “Mona Lisa” which was able to answer their questions. Yeah, Mona Lisa can talk from that picture…and oh…..wave too :)

If you are interested to pay a visit to the ALIVE MUSEUM for that experience, it is opened till 3 October 2010.  Venue : D’Tent, Downtown East, Singapore. Admission fee: $12 - $16 ($1 ticketing fee applies).

Anyway, since photo-taking is restricted inside the Gallery, there are limited photos that we can share.

And….

Hehe…This is what I look like when I tried to look like Mona Lisa.

My face is too small and my smile is definitely nothing close to her famous smile that has attracted much controversial descriptions.

It needs some skills to smile like Mona Lisa, huh? haha.

In your opinion, what is the significance of that MONA LISA SMILE that has made the painting so famous?

See this picture.

See this next picture. Now, we “are inside” this picture:)

you have good times with kids…

  • looks like a fascinating exhibition. that must have been fun.

  • Christy says:

The more interactive the better for children to learn and retain. But I think if Mona Lisa started interacting with me as an adult I would be weirded out.

  • Denesa says:

    Hi Deejay.
It is supposed to be an educational trip. But for kids of their age, they might not understand that much yet.

  • Denesa says:

    Hi Life Ramblings,
Have never been to one before. If you are a fan of these great artists, the exhibition will be of great interests.

  • Denesa says:

    Hi Cristy,
Yeah. Kids somehow gets more interested in an interactive environment, where they can view, feel and try out at the same time.

  • Jus says:

Hey that looks pretty cool! But am not sure if it’ll be suitable for our 20 mth old fellow though…

  • Denesa says:

    Hi Jus,

Might not be so suitable for very young kids cos they will not understand or appreciate. It takes one who has an appreciation of art to read in details those descriptions too. For my 11 year-old Brendan, the exhibition was just nice for him cos he was busy reading and trying to learn more. For Darren, he got excited only with the talking Mona Lisa by flooding “her” with repeated questions.
