Final Year. Final Race.
In about 6 months, Brendan will bid farewell to his Primary School.
For the last 5 years, I have not missed a year of his sports race.
Similarly, this year Papa Ed and I were both there to cheer him on for his final sports race in his existing school.
He took part in the 4×120m relay as the final runner.
The first few runners in his team were far way behind the other runners in the other teams. His team came in fourth.
But still we are proud of him.
Because he did not give up. He did his best to race forward as the final runner even though he knew that it was unlikely for him to catch up.
It is the sports and team spirits that we are proud of:)
He Is Good In Massage
Our little one.
He is so good in massage.
Whenever there is some silence at home, it means our little one has dominated the “chair” and quietly enjoying his leg massage *lol*.
He knows that he has to prepare his cup of water next to him too so that he could have a drink immediately after the massage.
The OSIM uSqueezeWarm (leg massager) is such a popular item at home and even our two boys love it.
Our little one is pretty self-helped in this.
Our little one is not only good in enjoying life, he has also given us so much joy in our lives:)
He not only knows how to appreciate a good leg massage, he is very good in giving others a massage too *hehe*
I was surprised by how he mastered his skill after he volunteered a massage for me on my birthday and then I am so privileged whenever he volunteers more massage of my arms and legs ever since.
[Those spa and massage sessions that he has accompanied me along might have let him learn some little tricks *haha*.]
The massage that my little one has given me - is the best massage that I have ever received …….. because the love and kind thoughts that are put into it, are not something that others could offer:)
Thank you Darren:)
[These are often the beautiful and sweet moments in the parenting journey that make up for those frustrating and "hair pulling" moments that we have as parents. Cherishing these sweet moments makes parenthood more inspiring. ]
See how happy he looks when his fingers are at work - volunteering a massage on his mommy’s tired legs. Haha…I didn’t know he would feel more ticklish than mommy:)
Our little one is seriously and enjoyably using some amount of energy - Not play play only *lol*
Doesn’t he look professional?
Paper Windmill
As our boys have got interested in paper craft work, we have been spending time together making origamies and other paper projects.
Here’s a simple “paper windmill” project that you can attempt with your young ones.
Simple and fast. Less than 5 minutes to create a paper windmill.
First, we create the fold lines and cut the paper (we used thicker paper type) at the four sides.
Then we gather the alternate tips of the paper and stapler them together.
To hide the staple, we paste a sticker over it.
Lastly, we paste a stick at the back of the windmill (we used satay stick in this case). Let your kids decorate the paper if they want to.
Here’s the end products.
We thought these windmills look more like flowers and so we keep them in a vase in our boys’ room.
The next time, we will make it more contrasting in colours by pasting a different coloured paper at the back of the first paper. Also, we will attempt to make a spinning windmill:) Alternatively, we could also make smaller windmills in different colours (without the sticks), put them in a picture frame and hang it on the wall.
